There are many women suffering from cervical cancer. It is very important to know the signs of cervical carcinoma so that its symptoms can be contained. Advanced cases of this type of medical condition can become invasive, which means that there is a very good chance that the cancer cells will afflict surround tissues and muscles as well.

The most common signs of cervical cancer are :

1. Abnormal vaginal bleeding. Abnormal bleeding or signs of unusual blood spotting is one of the more common signs of the pre-cancer stages of the cervix. It may come in various forms like: blood spotting between menstrual periods, bouts of heavy and light menstruation, vaginal bleeding after sex, blood spotting after the menopausal stage and even vaginal bleeding after douching. In some cases, the woman may experience unusual discharge between menstruation’s.

2. Pain during sexual intercourse. Vaginal bleeding is often preceded by pain during sexual intercourse. This may be due to the increased sensitivity or inflammation of the tissues and muscles of the cervix. In advanced stages, pain in this area is an indication that the cancer cells have already spread out to the surrounding areas.

3. Pain during normal bodily functions. Two other signs of cervical cancer include pain during peeing and bowel movement. Pain brought about by UTI or urinary tract infection is another indication that the muscles of the reproductive system is on a hyper sensitive stage.

Skin cancer or melanoma is the fastest growing form of cancer in the United States, and is now the sixth and seventh most common cancers in men and women, respectively. It is true that skin cancers are seldom seen in youngsters, but they do still occur-and one form, melanoma, is deadly, says Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

These are the things we should do to prevent skin cancers:

1. Generously applying sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 everywhere that might be exposed to the sun-even on cloudy days.

2. Reapplying sunscreen every two hours-and after perspiring or swimming.

3. Avoiding the midday sun-10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

4. Always keeping infants under six months old out of direct sunlight.

5. Having your child wear a brimmed hat and protective clothing.

6. Putting sunglasses on your child to protect his/her eyes and eyelids.

7. Remembering that sand and snow can reflect up to 85% of dangerous rays.

Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells which tend to proliferate in an uncontrolled way and, in some cases, to metastasize. Cancer develops when cells in the body begin to grow out of control. Normal cells grow, divide, and die. Instead of dying, cancer cells continue to grow and form new abnormal cells. Cancer cells often travel to other body parts where they grow and replace normal tissue. Targeted cancer therapies use drugs that block the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with specific molecules involved in carcinogenesis (the process by which normal cells become cancer cells) and tumor growth.
Cancer can cause pain. There are different types of pain. Acute pain ranges from mild to severe. It comes on quickly and lasts a short time. Chronic pain ranges from mild to severe. It either won’t go away or comes back often. Breakthrough pain is an intense rise in pain that occurs suddenly or is felt for a short time. It can occur by itself or in relation to a certain activity. It may happen several times a day, even when you’re taking the right dose of medicine. For example, it may happen as the current dose of your medicine is wearing off.
There are also different types of drugs used for cancer pain. Nonopioids are drugs used to treat mild to moderate pain, fever, and swelling. On a scale of 0 to 10, a nonopioid may be used if you rate your pain from 1 to 4. These medicines are stronger than most people realize. In many cases, they are all you’ll need to relieve your pain. You just need to be sure to take them regularly. If you’re having moderate to severe pain, your doctor may recommend that you take stronger drugs called opioids. Opioids are also known as narcotics. You must have a doctor’s prescription to take them. They are often taken with aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen. It is important that patients inform all of their health care providers about any therapies they are currently using or considering. People in pain get the most relief when they take their medicines on schedule. And don’t be afraid to ask for larger doses if you need them.
