Weight Loss with Green Juice and Water

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Weight loss with green juice and water is not a fad diet. If you are looking for quick weight loss look elsewhere. If you are looking for a healthy and gradual weight loss consider green juice and water. Green tea is also beneficial for dieting, but, we are talking about green juice. There is a difference.

The green juice I’m referring to is made mostly from green vegetables. Some formulations include forms of green algae and other include grains. I have seen formulation recommending green fruits as well. All of the above mentioned green juice formulations are beneficial to your health. I am talking about green tea from green vegetables. weight loss – Are Obese People Happier Than Thinner Ones?

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Society often paints the picture of the happy, jolly overweight person but is thisa true picture? Evidence is emerging that people who are obese suffer from depression more often than their thinner counterparts.

A study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry showed that obese people suffer from anxiety and depression 25% more than those of normal weight, although, interestingly enough, they were also 25% less likely to abuse drugs or alcohol than those of lesser weight. (more…)

4 Effective Weight Loss Tips

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Most of us are worried about how to loose those extra pounds. If you’re like me, you’ve tried numerous methods, from only eating one type of food, to not eating any food at all. But Instead of getting slim, you only get frustrated and hungry before falling back into your old eating habits. I haven’t found a magical diet that instantly makes cellulite disappear, but here are a few tips that have actually helped me loose weight. I’m confident they will help you as well.
1. Clean Out Your Cupboards- Recovering alcoholics wouldn’t keep a six pack of beer in their refrigerator, so if you’re addicted to high calorie foods, why keep them around to tempt you? Changing your eating habits and loosing weight requires a complete lifestyle change. If you’re serious about loosing weight, you need to trash the Twinkie’s. Remove any foods that you have a tendency to binge on, especially high fat, high calorie foods. You can’t always eliminate your cravings, but without all those foods lingering around they will be easier to control.

2. Find Low Calorie Substitutes- After you raid your kitchen and remove all the fatty food products, you’re cupboards may seem a little empty. Not to worry, now you need to replace all those foods with healthy substitutes. Buy low calorie snacks. Sugar free Jell-O is great, or you can try mixing yogurt with cool whip and use it as a fruit dip. Experiment with different foods; just remember to check the labels and to watch portion sizes. Low fat doesn’t always mean low calorie. The best foods are ones you can enjoy without feeling guilty. Loosing weight isn’t about starving yourself, it’s about learning to adopt healthy eating habits.

3. Create an Exercise Routine You Enjoy- You don’t need to run a marathon, jut remember, the more active you are, the faster your metabolism, and the more calories you burn. Find an exercise program that fits your needs and that is enjoyable for you. If you dread exercising, try a different type of exercise. If you don’t like the gym, work out at home. Try different things until you find something you like. It may seem like a chore at first, but if you make it a habit, it will get easier, and eventually you will see the results.

4. Set Realistic Goals – If you weigh two hundred and twenty pounds today, and want to weigh one hundred and eighty pounds by next month, more than likely you’re going to be disappointed. While it is very important to set goals, don’t set goals you can’t achieve; they leave you feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. Focus on one day at a time, and if you break down every once in a while and binge on a box of Crispy Crèmes, don’t beat yourself up about it and quit, just do better the next day.

What is the Difference Between Dieting and Cleansing?

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

In this short message I will reveal the primary differences between dieting & cleansing — and determine which will get you to your weight loss goal more quickly and which is better for your health.

This is how most diets go for the average American — let’s call him Joe…
Plan A: cut calories and increase activity. Ok, that sounds simple enough. After about a week or two, Joe will decide the one or two pound weight loss per week is not worth the hunger pangs, sweets cravings and grueling excursions at the gym.

Dieting Frugally – What Every Dieter Should Know

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Does any of these sound familiar?

1. Your favourite jeans does not fit anymore. You can’t even zip it up.

2. Busy body relatives think you are pregnant. But you are not.

3. Your doctor tsk tsks at your weight.

4. The dresses you love would look amazing on you only if you lose ten pounds.

The list goes on.

So you want to lose weight but dieting sounds expensive.

Diet bars, diet shakes and meal replacement soups and plans don’t come cheap. Then there are the vitamin supplements to ensure you stay healthy even as you drop the pounds.

Many people have lost weight on the atkins diet or diets high in protein but low in fat, but protein rich food like meat and fish are very expensive compared to carbs like potatos, rice and bread. If you replace carbs with protein, or at least eat enough protein to fill your stomach, you would end up spending far more than if you were to live on your usual fare.

One quick way to lose weight is to use diet pills. These pills help you lose weight by boosting your metabolic rate, making you feel full or buy blocking your body’s absorption of carbohydrates or fat. Unfortunately, these miracle pills, herbal or otherwise are expensive.

So how can you lose weight if you are broke?

Just think out of the box.

To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you consume, or consume fewer calories than you burn.

If you eat less of whatever you are eating now, you will lose weight.

No need for fancy aids, though they may speed up the process.

What you do need is plenty of discipline.

1. Drink plenty of water before your meals to fill your stomach before you even eat. 2. Stop eating when you are 80% full. 3. Don’t upsize your meals no matter how much the fast food people might tempt you. Save those few cents and lower your calorie intake. 4. Drink water instead of cola or soda. You will save money as well as calories.

Ear Stapling Is Not The Best Way To Lose Weight

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

You can call it a merger between body piercing and food abstinence. But officially, people call this procedure the weight loss ear staple. This procedure involves attaching a very small device to a cartilage inside your ear. This small staple, which is very similar to your ordinary staple wire, is said to help in losing weight. As body piercing becomes increasingly fashionable these days, weight watchers never needed to have a second look at this new trend. True enough, countless overweight people jumped in on the bandwagon and had their ears stapled to take advantage of a more in-vogue way to losing weight. But more than just fashion, this procedure promises to provide anyone a quick way to shed off unwanted pounds. (more…)

Losing Weight With Interval Training

Friday, May 9th, 2008

If you are trying to lose weight, you must engage in some form of cardio training. Even if you find health offers on the internet which say that some diet pills can help, the fact remains that some type of cardio is going to be necessary. Another fact is that cardio training can become pretty boring fairly quickly. It might be ok when you first start out, you may begin by using an exercise bike, and initially you may only do 10 to 15 minutes. However after a couple of months your ability to exercise for longer will increase and you could be capable of doing 30, 45 or 60 minutes on the bike. The boredom really starts to set in when you need to spend long periods of time on cardio exercise.
We also live in a world where time is often hard to come by. Many giving up exercise, simply because they don’t have the time. Now there is a method where you can not only decrease the time you spend on cardio, but dramatically increase the results that you get from it. This method is called interval training which means that you don’t exercise at the same intensity for the complete workout, you work at different speeds during your workout. Say you spend 30 minutes on an exercise bike going at the same pace; it is only a matter of time before you will have to extend that time again and again if you want to keep getting results. This is because your body can adapt fairly quickly to what you are doing.
With interval training you will warm up on the bike going at a steady pace for about 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes are up speed up the pace by going as fast as you can for 60 seconds. After you have done this go back to your normal pace for 2 minutes. Once the 2 minutes are up, repeat the process again and again until you have been on the bike for 20 minutes.
Interval training not only saves you time and gives you better results, it also prevents your body from adapting too quickly to what you are doing. You won’t believe how quickly your health and fitness will improve and how many calories you will start burning. If fat loss is your goal and you don’t have much time to achieve that goal, then interval training is for you.

Natural Weight Loss, Instead of pills

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

For natural weight loss, you don’t need special diets. It’s ironic, isn’t it, that when you search for “natural weight loss” online you see a load of ads for pharmaceutical products. If you type up Weight Loss in a keyword tracker tool or in a search engine like Google, you will be alarmed to see how many searches in a day are being done on this subject alone. The good news is there are several books on the subject of this kind of a diet to be educated-to a degree- on the subject. Proper exercise is an essential ingredient in any natural weight-loss program, because there is no way that the weight loss will be permanent without exercise, and that’s a fact. Only a complete and natural weight loss system which is totally safe, without the use of weight-loss pills to eliminate food cravings, and which includes a good walking program will result in permanent weight loss.

Instead of pills and punishing diets and workouts, you need a weight loss program which takes into account the natural human tendency to resist change. By natural weight loss I also mean much more than the temporary results implied and delivered by many Internet weight loss programs. Regardless of the advice given there does exist a set of fundamental rules to achieve safe but natural weight loss. (more…)
